Sachin Tendulkar, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani are in Rio as the opening ceremony concludes at the Maracana Stadium.
The former India cricketing great is the Indian Olympic Association’s goodwill ambassador and is currently in Rio on the invitation of International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach.
Nita Ambani on her part attended the President’s dinner after being elected into the IOC on Thursday evening. She is the first Indian woman to hold such a high post in the world body.
Sachin took to social media and uploaded some of his pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Ambani. Nita Ambani was chosen as one of the members of IOC recently.
‘Master Blaster’ vowed to help the athletes with words of encouragement as they leave the country for Rio Olympics and to help in raising awareness for the quadrennial summer game .
His trip to Rio comes amid speculation that cricket could be included in the 2024 Games roster.
