Tata Motors Went Past Mahindra & Mahindra As The Third-largest Passenger Vehicle Seller In India, In November, On The Back Of Tiago Sales.
Indian auto giant Tata Motors went past Mahindra & Mahindra as the third-largest passenger vehicle seller in India, in November, on the back of Tiago sales.
According to sales data received from industry sources, Tata Motors sold 12,736 units in November compared with 12,707 units sold by Mahindra & Mahindra in the same period.
Though the margin of lead is slim now, analysts expect Tata Motors to maintain the advantage. The largest selling vehicles from Mahindra — Scorpio and Bolero’s saw a sales decline of 41 per cent and 42 per cent, respectively, in November on a month-on-month basis.
Mahindra sold 3,099 units of Scorpio while 5,257 units of Bolero were sold last month.
The recently-launched KUV100 and TUV300 also posted a month-on-month sales drop of 55 per cent at 1,183 units and 1,357 units, respectively, in November. Whereas Tata Motors’ most popular passenger vehicles Tiago saw a month on-month decline of 2 per cent at 6,008 units sold in November. Tiago also made it to the top 10 selling cars in the country in November.
