Kirit Parikh panel recommends hike in diesel, LPG prices

The Kirit Parikh panel on Wednesday recommended hike in the prices of diesel, kerosene and cooking gas. Parikh presented the report to Oil Minister Veerappa Moily on Wednesday.
The panel has recommended Rs 5 per liter hike in diesel, Rs 4 per litre increase in kerosene and Rs 250 per cylinder rise in LPG rates, Parikh said. The panel has also called for reducing quota of subsidised LPG to 6 cylinders per household in a year from 9 at present.
The report was based on a suggested methodology for pricing of diesel and cooking fuel.
