The BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 38 points at 27,866. The BSE Sensex opened at 27,808 touched an intra-day high of 27,955 and low of 27,716.
The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 20 points at 8,611. The NSE Nifty opened at 8,582 hitting a high of 8,637 and low of 8,555.
Investors seemed to be in a cautious mood a day after India conducted “surgical strikes” on terror launch pads across the LoC.
Among BSE sectoral indices, realty index, oil & gas, infrastructure and PSU were the main gainers, while FMCG index showcased weakness on the index.
The major gainers on the Sensex were GAIL, M&M, ONGC , Tata Steel and Power Grid, while the major losers were Cipla, ITC, Coal India , Dr Reddy's and HUL.
