Closing Bell: Sensex Tanks 674 Points, Nifty Settles Below 8,100

Equity benchmark Sensex tumbled over 400 points in early trade on Friday led by losses in banking and auto stocks as investor sentiment continued to be weighed down by the uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impact. It also ended on the down side after falling 674.36 points at 27,590.95.
Similarly, the NSE Nifty also dropped another 170 points to settle at 8,083.80.
