Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka makes stylish ever entry in ‘driverless’ cart, eyes Artificial Intelligence
I Drove Here To This Venue In Our Own Indigenously- Built Autonomous Golf Cart. This Is A Test Bed That We Have Built To Train Thousands Of Engineers On Autonomous Driving Technology As We Renew Our Existing Services On The Basis Of These Dual Forces Of Automation And Innovation, Sikka Said In The Media Briefing.
After beating street estimates for April-June quarter, Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka made an ever stylish entry at the company’s media briefing in a ‘driverless’ cart that was indigenously developed at its Mysore centre.
"I drove here to this venue in our own indigenously- built autonomous golf cart. This is a test bed that we have built to train thousands of engineers on autonomous driving technology as we renew our existing services on the basis of these dual forces of automation and innovation," Sikka said in the media briefing.
"An autonomous vehicle for me and Pravin(COO) built right in Mysore @Infosys Engg Services! Who says we can't build transformative technologies?" read a tweet by Sikka.
This was the first instance of any Indian company indigenously developing a driver less vehicle, something that company’s like Google and Uber have been trying for some time now.
Infosys on Friday reported a 1.3 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs. 3,483 beating the street estimates. The company now plans to develop the autonomous vehicle that would be aimed at training employees on new emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.
