Supreme Court seeks list of Unitech’s debt-free properties

In further setback to real estate builder Unitech Limited, the Supreme Court on Monday said that it will auction the realty companies free of debt properties so that home buyers can be refunded.
The Apex Court directed the Unitech to submit a list of unencumbered properties including personal assets of company directors.
Bench of court headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra said, “You cheated homebuyers.”

The Apex Court added that it would likely appoint an expert for listing of unencumbered properties of Unitech Properties after the realty company submitted a list of its properties but said it was incomplete.
