Eight persons drowned when a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus overturned and plunged into a lake at Belur in the district on Tuesday, police said.
The bus was carrying about 50 passengers, police said, adding, all the eight bodies have been fished out of the Vishnusamudra lake.
Rescue and relief operations are underway involving fire brigade, police and local fishermen, they said.
