Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Saturday strongly refuted the allegations of any irregularity in the land purchased by him and asked Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia to resign for "misleading" the Assembly and people of the state.Bajwa said the land deal issue pertaining to him was raised in the state Assembly yesterday under a "planned conspiracy" to divert the attention of the people from important issues like property tax, illegal colonies and poor law and order situation. He said Majithia should "resign" for misleading the people and the House as all his land deals were accounted for and there was no irregularity. He alleged that Majithia had misled the house by quoting selective parts of a report of the Justice (Retd) Kuldip Singh Tribunal submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The report was submitted around seven months ago after the tribunal probed some illegal land deals around the periphery of Chandigarh.
