Rains lash Punjab, Haryana
The Mercury In These Two Districts Settled At 32.6 And 34 Degrees Celsius Respectively. Met Department Forecast Said Light To Moderate Rains May Occuar At Few Places In Punjab And Haryana During The Next 24 Hours.
People got the much-needed relief as monsoon rains lashed various parts of Punjab and Haryana, bringing to a halt the ongoing spell of hot and humid weather.
Patiala in Punjab recorded maximum rainfall in the region at 149 mm, while the mercury in the district settled at 33.5 degrees Celsius, the local Met office said.
Union Territory of Chandigarh received 38.6 mm of rainfall, while the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 33 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal.
Amritsar received a rainfall of 7.6 mm. In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal received 87.6 mm and 72.6 mm of rainfall.
