Several pockets of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday received light to moderate rains, bringing the temperatures down and easing out humidity in the region.Hisar was drenched by 42 mm of rainfall and it rained 24.7 mm at Chandigarh, the MeT office said here. Besides, Ludhiana and Patiala received 13.2 mm rains each.The MeT forecast light to moderate rainfall in the region during the next 24 hours with possibility of heavy downpour in isolated places in Haryana.Bhiwani had a high of 36.4 degrees Celsius followed by 36.2 degrees C at Hisar and 34 degrees C at Karnal, one notch above normal.Among other places, Narnaul settled at a high of 33 degrees C, two notches above normal. Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded an identical high of 33 degrees C, one notch below normal.Patiala had a high of 32.6 deg C followed by 32 deg C at Ambala, two notches below normal and 31.7 deg C at Chandigarh, also two notches below normal.
