A 17-year-old boy died after his scooty was hit by a vehicle in outer Delhi's Mianwali area, police said on Monday. The incident occurred last night around 10.30 PM when the victim, Atul, was on his way home, they said.
Sources said that the offending vehicle was a Mercedes but DCP (Outer) Rishi Pal said that the incident is under investigation. Atul was rushed to hospital where he was declared brought dead, they said, adding that he wasn't wearing a helmet.
Police is scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the driver who fled the spot after hitting the scooty. Further details are awaited.
