Arvind Kejriwal to hold 'state conference' to press for full statehood to Delhi
After nine days of a sit-in protest against IAS officers' "strike" at LG Anil Baijal's residence, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on July 1 will hold a "state conference" in the capital to press for its demand to make Delhi a full-fledged state.
To make Delhi a full-fledged state, the Aam Aadmy Party (AAP) will hold a 'state conference' on July 1 at 3 pm at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi. You are requested to join in large numbers to make this protest a success, earlier party leader Gopal Rai said in a tweet.
Earlier on June 10, Kejriwal, in a clarion call, urged the AAP workers to join his 'L-G, Delhi Chodo' campaign to press its demand for full statehood to Delhi.
Addressing a special session at Delhi Legislative Assembly the Delhi CM said, "I want to tell BJP that if before 2019 Elections, Delhi is granted statehood, we'll make sure that each and every vote from Delhi goes in your favour, we'll campaign for you".

Speaking on the assembly on June 11, the AAP national convenor had also accused LG Baijal of "creating obstacles" in the development works being carried out by his government.
On the same day, the Assembly passed a resolution demanding the Central government introduce a Constitutional Amendment Bill in Parliament to grant full statehood to Delhi.
The AAP campaign for full statehood to Delhi came ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, the ruling party in Delhi is planning to strongly raise the statehood issue during the Lok Sabha elections.
