New Year Celebrations: Entry And Exit Gates Of Five Delhi Metro Stations Closed
Anticipating Huge Crowd On The New Year's Eve, The Delhi Metro Has Decided To Restrict Exit From The Busy Rajiv Chowk Metro Station After 9 Pm On Tuesday.
Entry and exit gates at five Delhi Metro stations were closed on Wednesday evening to ease rush of passengers on New Year's Day. "Entry & exit gates of Central Secretariat, Udyog Bhawan, Pragati Maidan, Khan Market and Mandi House are closed. Interchange is available at Central Secretariat and Mandi House," Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted.
However, more than an hour later, the gates at all the stations were re-opened. "Normal services have resumed in all stations," the DMRC tweeted.
Anticipating huge crowd on the New Year's Eve, the Delhi Metro has decided to restrict exit from the busy Rajiv Chowk metro station after 9 pm on Tuesday. In a tweet, the Delhi Metro alerted commuters to plan their journeys accordingly.
"To ease overcrowding on New Year's Eve (31 December 2019), exit from Rajiv Chowk metro station will not be allowed after 9 PM onwards. Entry of passengers will be allowed till the departure of last train," the DMRC tweeted.
