Caught on camera: Delhi cop’s son assaults woman, arrested after video goes viral
The Delhi Police on Friday arrested Rohit Tomar, the son of a Delhi police personnel, after a video showing him brutally thrashing a woman inside an office went viral on social media.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh took cognisance of the case and ordered the police to take action.

“I have taken note of a video where a youth has been seen severely beating a woman. I have spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner over the phone and directed him to take necessary action in this regard,” Rajnath Singh tweeted.
In the video, reported to have taken at a private office in Delhi’s Tilak Nagar, Tomar was seen dragging the woman around by her hair, throwing her to the ground, kicking, slapping her and using his knees and elbows to assault her.

The West Delhi police said that they had taken stern action. “A case under section 354/506 IPC has already been registered against Rohit Tomar. Further action is being taken to arrest him,” the DCP West Delhi tweeted.
