Chandni Chowk blast: Cause uncertain, cops hunt for man carrying crackers in plastic bags

The Delhi Police claimed to have identified the man who was carrying firecrackers in two plastic bags, the cause of the blast in Chandni Chowk area that left a man dead and four others injured on Tuesday.
However, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
In a press release issued later in the day, the police claimed that the blast occured at around 10.40am in Pattewali Gali under the Lahori Gate police station area.
"A labourer carrying two plastic bags has been identified as Motalip Mirza, a resident of Murshidabad district in West Bengal. Mirza put the bags full of firecrackers on the ground and due to excessive pressure the bags exploded," the statement read.
