Couple stabbed to death in Delhi by neighbour over minor argument
There Are No CCTV Cameras Installed In The Area To Ascertain The Exact Sequence Of The Incident.
A couple was brutally stabbed to death in full public view after an argument broke over some petty issue. The incident took place in west Delhi's Khyala area. The accused - identified as Mohammad Azad - stabbed the family multiple times and fled from the spot. Shockingly, people present at the site either watched or filmed the attack on their phones but no one stopped the attacker.
The deceased has been identified as Sunita and her 41-year-old husband Viru. Their 18-year-old son is critical and admitted. According to police, a quarrel broke out at around 7.30 pm between Sunita and the accused in their locality over some minor issue while she was returning from market.
She informed about the quarrel to her husband and son, who then came to counter the accused following which he stabbed them multiple times, police said.
The victims were rushed to the Guru Gobind Singh Hospital at Khyala, where Sunita was declared brought dead. A few hours later her husband succumbed to injuries and son is stated to be in a critical condition, a senior police officer said.
The attacker has surrendered and confessed his crime. However, the police are probing if any quarrel broke out between them earlier as well the reason behind the fight. Azad's family left the house fearing the consequences of his actions, police said.
There are no CCTV cameras installed in the area to ascertain the exact sequence of the incident, they said. The family was residing on rent at a DDA colony in Khyala and the accused was their neighbour, police said.
