Two women were killed on Monday after a cylinder exploded in Delhi’s Karawal Nagar. One person was also injured in the tragic incident. In a tweet, ANI said, “Delhi: 62-year-old mother & her 38-year-old daughter have died after a cylinder blast in Karawal Nagar. One other person injured in the incident.”
An official of the Delhi Fire Service said that two fire tenders were rushed to the spot after the Fire Department received a call about the explosion.
“Two cylinders exploded while one of them was being refilled,”Chief Fire Officer Atul Garg said. “Hemlata (38) and Rambiri (62) died on the spot, while Rajesh (42) who sustained injuries was rushed to the GTB hospital,” Garg said.
The cause of the cylinder blast is yet to be known.
Back in July this year, at least five persons including a 5-year-old girl were injured after a cylinder exploded in west Delhi's Moti Nagar area. The injured were identified as Mohammad Chhotu (45), Samoa Begum (40), Mohammad Shahban (25), Muskan (5), and Mohammad Sadiq (24).
