Delhi Metro: Service On Yellow Line Delayed After Woman Commits Suicide At GTB Nagar
The Services Between Samaypur Badli And Vishwavidyalaya Stations On Delhi Metro's Yellow Line Were Disturbed For A Few Minutes.
The services on Delhi Metro's Yellow Line between Samaypur Badli and Vishwavidyalaya stations were delayed for few minutes after A woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train at the GTB Nagar station. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), services were restored to normal after a few minutes.
Aisa Khan, a resident of Roshanara Garden, Shakti Nagar, jumped off platform No 2 of the GTB Nagar Metro station, an officer said. The lady was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead. No suicide note was found from the spot. One mobile number was recovered from her purse, the police said.
The Delhi Metro's official handle tweeted at 8.30 am on Monday morning, "Yellow Line Update: Delay in service between Samaypur Badli and Vishwavidyalaya due to a passenger on track at GTB Nagar. Normal service on all other lines." It tweeted "normal services have resumed" after a few minutes.
It was not clear what was exact reason for the delay. Delhi Metro usually uses the term "passenger on track" in case of suicides or some jumping in front on trains.
