Delhi temperature hovers around 40°C, take these precautions to save yourself from intense heat
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Predicted Similar Weather Condition To Prevail Throughout The Week.
Delhiites witnessed a hot Wednesday morning with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 42 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity recorded at 8.30 am was 39 per cent and the weatherman predicted mainly clear sky with dusty winds during the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted similar weather condition to prevail throughout the week. Delhi will continue to rise for the next three days as "we foresee no rainfall or thunderstorm," IMD said.
The Safdarjung observatory, recording of which is considered the official figure for the city, said the minimum temperature has settled at 23.6 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature was recorded at 21.8 degree Celsius.
The severe heat can cause heat strokes and heat exhaustion that can lead to symptoms like dizziness, headaches, fainting and others. People should avoid venturing out after 10 am and should try to stay indoors till 5 pm.
What precautions you should take:
Cover your head and face with cotton cloth or scarf to limit exposure to sunlight Carry a bottle of water and glucose to keep you hydrated. Take a shower before you leave home. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. Try to cover your head with a hat or an umbrella to keep the head from becoming too warm. Carry and wear sunglasses to keep your eyes safe if you go out during the peak hours.
