Delhi: Woman's body found in lake at Hauz Khas Village

The body of a 62-year-old woman was found in a lake at Hauz Khas Village in south Delhi on Friday morning, police said.
On receiving a PCR call around 10.40 AM about the body being found in District Park Jheel, police reached the spot and sent it for post-mortem, a senior police officer said.
The woman has been identified as Veermati, a resident of Hauz Khas Village. Her son Ashok Kumar and brother-in-law Ramesh, who identified her, did not suspect any foul play and drowning seems to be the cause of her death, he said.
The woman used to go to the park for walks and was seen there around 9 AM, the officer said. Post-mortem will be conducted on Saturday and inquest proceedings are underway, he said.
