Several Air India flights delayed at Delhi's IGI Airport after server failure
Chaos spread at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday after a technical glitch in the servers of state-run airlines Air India. Several Delhi bound flights of Air India got delayed due to the server failure, reported news agency ANI.
"The software-related glitch affected operations from 1 PM to 2.30 PM during which period, check-in and other services were handled manually," an Air India spokesperson said.
All the domestic and international flights of Air India were grounded and people took to Twitter to express their anguish over the unexpected delay due to the failure of debt-ridden airlines' servers.
"Just reached Delhi Airport and found out that Air India servers are down for the last two hours. All domestic and international flights are grounded. The airport looks like a mela (fair) of stranded passengers with hardly any space to even walk,"Akhilesh Mishra, CEO, BlueKraft Digital Foundation tweeted.
Several people who even boarded the flight were also forced to wait for hours as their flights didn't take off from the airport due to the server failure.
"Waiting for #AirIndia to depart for the last one hour inside thr plane. No information no updates, just pure harassment #epicfail...(sic)" tweeted another passenger Â
