Fire breaks out in furniture market near Kalindi Kunj Metro station, train services on Magenta Line hit
Metro Train Operations On Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line (Botanical Garden To Janakpuri West) Were Affected Because Of This. However, Train Services Have Now Resumed After Remaining Suspended For Almost 5 Hours.
A fire broke out in a furniture market near the Kalindi Kunj Metro station in Delhi early on Friday morning. As many as 15 fire tenders were pressed into action to contain the blaze. Metro train operations on Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line (Botanical Garden to Janakpuri West) were affected because of this. However, train services have now resumed after remaining suspended for almost 5 hours. Train movement between Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh and Kalindi Kunj has been temporarily stopped, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said in a statement. Services between Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden have also been temporarily stopped. However, short loops are being run between Janakpuri West and Jasola Vihar Shaheen Bagh.
Fire official said that no injuries have been reported till now and fire-fighting operations are underway.
"The fire was reported at 5.55 am, and 17 fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot," Director of Delhi Fire Services Atul Garg was quoted as saying by IANS.
