Firing At Office Of BJP MP Hans Raj Hans, Accused Arrested

No One Was Injured In The Firing, Which Has Been Recorded On CCTV. An FIR Is Being Filed Based On The CCTV Footage.

Firing has been reported outside Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hans Raj Hans' office in Rohini area of West Delhi. The person who fired outside Hans Raj Hans' office has been identified as 51-year-old Rameshwar Pehalwan. He was arrested later. A case has been registered under section 336 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

"Bullets fired in air outside BJP MP Hans Raj Hans' Rohini office. The person has been identified. Further investigation underway," said DCP SD Mishra.

No one was injured in the firing, which has been recorded on CCTV. An FIR is being filed based on the CCTV footage. 

According to police, the CCTV footage showed a man wearing a saffron kurta and white pyjamas. The man, who seemed to be in his 50s, could be seen firing in the air outside the lawmaker's office, they said.

According to police, the man is suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of incident. He created ruckus and hurled abuses before opening fire.

No one was present inside the office and at least two-three rounds were fired, one of which hit its glass door, a senior police officer said.

The suspect has been identified with the help of CCTV footage, police said, adding that efforts are on to nab him.
