Wheelchair-bound elderly man caught for gold smuggling at Delhi airport
Delhi airport customs officials has arrested a wheelchair-bound elderly man for allegedly trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 47 lakh into the country, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
The passenger was travelling from Dubai to Delhi.
The 68-year-old man was found carrying gold bars worth Rs 47.4 lakh on his arrival at Delhi airport from Dubai on Saturday. Following it, the man has been arrested by customs officials.

"A detailed personal and baggage search of the passenger resulted in the recovery of three gold bars of foreign origin, collectively weighing 1.4 kg," the customs said in a statement.
When probed, the passenger revealed having smuggled in three kg of gold bars worth Rs 83.29 lakh during his previous visits to India, according to the statement.
