Jilted lover stabs woman at Greater Noida mall, attempts suicide
A jilted lover stabbed an 18-year-old girl several times and attempted to kill himself at a mall in Greater Noida on Friday, police said. The accused, Kuldeep Singh, had come to the mall at around 11.30 am, where the victim used to work at a showroom.
Finding the woman alone when she was going to the restroom on the first floor of the mall, Singh grabbed her and stabbed several times, PTI quoted eyewitnesses as saying.
After the brutal attack, the accused tried to escape but seeing the police coming to grab him, he went upstairs and stabbed himself, SHO of the Kasna police station Shailendra Pratap Singh said.
Later, the police rushed both - the victim and the accused to a hospital where woman's condition was stated to be critical.
Family members of the victim said that the accused was stalking her for last few months. She was living with her parents in Dadri and they had even arranged an auto-rickshaw for her.
Police have registered a case against the accused, a resident of Gautampuri in Dadri, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)” the SHO said.
