Haryana: 12 dead, 7 injured after truck rams into two-wheelers in Sonipat
At least 12 people were killed and seven injured after a truck coming from the wrong side rammed into a car and 2 two-wheelers in Haryana's Sonipat on Sunday evening. Soon after the accident, the police rushed to the spot and launched a preliminary investigation into the matter.
"There are 12 casualty as of now. Seven persons have been injured in the accident," Sonipat SP Pratiksha Godara.
The accident took place around 6pm on Gohana-Panipat Highway when a truck hit a car and a jeep, the police said. The truck driver left his vehicle and fled the spot immediately after the mishap, the police said, adding that the truck has been impounded. The injured were taken to PGI in Khanpur, the police said.Â
According to sources, the truck was running at a speed of 40 kmph from Delhi.
