IIT Delhi first year student attempts suicide, jumps from hostel building
9-year-old IIT Delhi Student Climbed Up To 4th-floor Terrace And Jumped When Abhinandan (Nitish’s Roommate) Went To Call The Security Guard To Help Him Take Nitish Down.
A student of IIT-Delhi allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping from the 4th floor of Vindyachal hostel. Nitish Kumar Purthi, a student Engineering Physics from Ranchi, tried to commit suicide on Tuesday evening. The 19-year-old student was admitted in AIIMS trauma centre and has suffered fracture in legs.
Nitish was in depression apparently as he didn’t want to study engineering. 19-year-old IIT Delhi student climbed up to 4th-floor terrace and jumped when Abhinandan (Nitish’s roommate) went to call the security guard to help him take Nitish down.

In past four years, seven students committed suicide in IIT-K. Several others also tried to take their life.
