Japanese man attacked with knife, looted in Delhi
A Japanese tourist, who is on a solo trip to India, was grievously injured when four unidentified armed men stabbed him multiple times during a robbery bid in Delhi’s Siraspur, police said on Sunday.
The 41-year-old, identified as Tadayuki Kurihara, was on his way towards a gurdwara to attend the Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations when the incident happened, police said.
“The incident took place on Friday at around 6.30 pm when the victim was walking alone towards a gurdwara in Siraspur to attend Guru Nanak Jayanti celebrations, “a senior police officer said.

Police said the victim had been on a two-month solo trip and landed in India three days ago.
After stabbing the victim, the alleged group of four decamped his valuable items, including mobile phone and a cash before fleeing from the spot, said police.
The victim, a Tokyo resident, was stabbed four times on his chest, lower back and right forearm. He was rescued by one of the passing cars’ driver, it said.

The victim was rushed to Raja Harishchandra Hospital for preliminary treatment and later shifted to a special ward in LNJP hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment, police said.
A case has been registered and the matter is being investigated, Rajneesh Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini), said.
Footage from CCTV cameras installed in the area are being scanned to ascertain the exact sequence of events, police said, adding the accused were yet to be arrested.
