Indian cricketer Parvinder Awana was allegedly beaten up by five people in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on 21 July. The sequence of events in the incident is quite hazy as per last reports coming on the matter. Awana told a leading media house that his vehicle, a Mahindra XUV, had been damaged in the incident. A probe is on to investigate the matter.
Awana is a seasoned pacer on the Indian domestic circuit who represents Delhi in first class cricket. He has been picked by Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League. He started his first class career playing for Himachal Pradesh in 2007. Since then he has shifted base to Delhi.
He has made a total of 62 first class appearances in his career in which he has accumulated 191 wickets. Apart from this, he also has 63 wickets from 44 List A appearances.
