"The Noida-Greater Noida metro line's inauguration will be held most likely on January 25 by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth," NMRC Executive Director P D Upadhyay said. He further added that the inaugural event would be held at the Depot Station from where the chief minister would take a ride on the new metro up to Sector 142 station
The Aqua Line will connect Noida and Greater Noida and will be one of the first major public transport options for the area. There are 21 stations on the corridor, 15 of them in Noida and six in Greater Noida.
Here are some of the key features of Aqua Line trains:
Clocking an average speed of 37.5 kmph, the Aqua line trains are designed to run at a maximum speed of 80 kmph. Seat reservation through different colours has been done in the coaches for ladies, senior citizens and differently abled persons. There is a dedicated space for wheelchair in driving trailer cars at both the ends of the trains. Trains are equipped with a passenger information system, a public address system, and an emergency announcement system from operation control centre. All the stations are equipped with platform screen doors. The Aqua line is not lined with Delhi Metro, which many believe will make the seamless connectivity difficult. The passengers will have to get new tokens or use another card for boarding the Delhi Metro.
