A court in Muzaffarnagar has sentenced two persons to five-years imprisonment for slaughtering cows in Shamli district in 2007.
Additional district sessions judge Manoj Kumar on Monday convicted Israil and Monu and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 each.
According to government lawyer Javed Ali, police arrested Israil and Monu during a raid and seized cow meat from theirhouse in Azizpur village under Jhinjhana police station ofShamli district on August 20, 2007.
