Amid high alert sounded in the wake of Pathankot terror attack, Uttar Pradesh top police officials today reviewed the overall security scenario in the state and decided to beef up security at vulnerable points.
“Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked police to step up vigil so that any terror attempt can be thwarted and peace is maintained in the state,” a government spokesman said here.
He said DGP Javeed Ahmad reviewed the law and order scenario with zonal IGs and range DIGs. The state has some key defence and strategic installations.
Additional DG (Crime) R K Swarnakar said various steps had been taken to tone up the security apparatus but declined to divulge details.
