Waterlogging, traffic snarls as rains lash Delhi

Rains lashed the national capital on Friday leading to massive waterlogging and long traffic jams during the peak rush hour.
Commuters in several parts of the city especially at Dhaula Kuan, ITO crossing - a major point connecting central and east Delhi, Ring Road, Mandi House, Laxmi Nagar and roads connecting Delhi to Noida and Gurgaon witnessed jams.
The national capital today received 6.9 mm of rains intermittently throughout the day bring the temperatures to below normal.
Adding to the commuters woes, traffic holdover was also caused due to breakdown of Delhi Transport Corporation bus and other vehicles at various places.
Vehicular movement was delayed at Andrews Ganj flyover after a DTC bus broke down, while a jam was witnessed between Prembari and Azadpur.
Flow of traffic was slow from Delhi gate chowk towards Bahadur Shah Zafar road and Jawahar Lal Nehru road towards Bahadur Shah Zafar road in front of Ambedkar Stadium due to DMRC work.
Long queues of vehicles were seen at Laxmi Nagar, ITO, Kashmere Gate, Munirka, Dwarka and Dhaula Kuan in the evening rush hour as people were returning home from their offices.
