West Bengal celebrates ‘Rosogolla Dibas’ at Mishti Hub
The West Bengal government is celebrating “Rosogolla Dibas” as the sweetmeat gets the Geographical Indication (GI) tag as ‘West Bengal’s Rosogolla’. As a part of the celebration, the government has installed ‘Mishti Hub’ where varieties of rosogollas are being showcased in stalls. The Mishti Hub is set up at the Eco Park in New Town area.
“Banglar Rosogolla got the GI tag last year on this day. We are observing this day as #RosogollaDibas at #MistiHub in #Kolkata to mark this sweet occasion. Everyone is welcome,”
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote on her Twitter handle today.

The GI tag identifies a product as originating from a particular place. West Bengal received the GI tag for Rosogolla in November 14, 2017.
Rosogollas, a soft white and spongy sweet ball, is one of the most popular Bengali sweets.
