Four people, including a five-year-old girl, in the district have succumbed to a fever the cause of which is not yet known.
Pervesh (34) of Chorawala village, Mohammad Nabi (30) and a five-year-old girl, Munni, and one more person of Malakpur village were suffering from high fever. They died over the last week, doctors said.
The patients complained of high fever, weakness and severe knee pain. Tests were conducted on them to ascertain if they were suffering from dengue or chikungunya, but they tested negative, they said.
The cause of the fever is not known yet. The Health Department in the district has sent a team of doctors to villages where the deaths were reported.
