Lucknow metro trial run to begin on Thursday
The Primary Section (between Transport Nagar To Charbagh) Would Be Open For Public On March 26 Next Year After Three Months' Rigorous Trial.
The trial run of Uttar Pradesh government's much publicised Lucknow Metro will be held on Thursday with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his father Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav inaugrating it.
The function for the same will be held at Transport Nagar depot and the trial run will be on 8.5 km stretch till Charbagh station, official sources said in Lucknow.
The 23-km long North-South corridor will have 21 stations,including eight elevated ones, and the estimated cost of this project will be around Rs 6800 crores. The primary section (between Transport Nagar to Charbagh) would be open for public on March 26 next year after three months' rigorous trial.
At the function, SP state president Shivpal Yadav is also likely to be present.LMRC, a special purpose vehicle, had been registered under the Companies Act by the state government in 2013 to execute metro-rail project in city. Padma Vibhushan E Sreedharan, who has successfully handled many mega projects in country like Konkan railway and Delhi metro is principal advisor of LMRC.
