Teenage boy beaten to death over cricket match in Uttar Pradesh
In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old boy was beaten to death while four others were injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Bheekhpur village on Thursday.
The incident happened following a tiff among the youths of Bheekhpur and Sripur villages over a cricket match about a month ago. The seniors intervened and the matter was resolved.
However, Dharmendra alias Bhola of Sripur, who succumbed to injury, was severely beaten up by the rival group on Wednesday, Police station in-charge Satyendra Rai said.
“Four others were also beaten up when they came to rescue Dharmendra,” Rai said.
Police have arrested two people in the case.
“An FIR has been lodged against seven people and two have been arrested. Additional police have been deployed as precautionary measure” Rai added.
