Mumbai: 5 tenements gutted in Bandra blaze, no casualties reported

A major fire broke out on early Tuesday morning at a chawl situated in Mumbai's Bandra area where a few tenements were gutted in the blaze, officials said.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the mishap which occurred at the chawl in Behram Nagar in Bandra (east). "We received a call at around 4 AM today (regarding the blaze) and 10 fire engines along with water tankers were pressed into action immediately to douse the flames," a firebrigade official said.
Nearly 3-5 tenements were gutted in the blaze, he said,adding that the fire was contained to a small area by the firebrigade personnel and the flames were doused by 8 AM. The loss of property and cause of the fire were being ascertained, he said.
