Police, residents clash at Mumbai's Campa Cola housing society
On Tuesday, Residents Opposed BMC Officials, Blocked The Gate In Order To Prevent Them From Entering The Society. The Officials Had Suspended The Move For One Day, Following Protests By The Residents.
The demolition in the Campa Cola Housing society began on Tuesday with the bulldozer of BMC breaking the main entrance gate of the building.

Police had to forcibly send the residents, who were protesting against the action, to move outside the building and even lathicharged them.

On Tuesday, residents opposed BMC officials, blocked the gate in order to prevent them from entering the society. The officials had suspended the move for one day, following protests by the residents.

Earlier, BMC had disconnected the water and power supply of the society.
Around 1 month back, Supreme Court had issued a notice to evacuate the illegal flats. Around 102 families went on to protest against the eviction notice issued by BMC officials, which expired on Tuesday.
