Three held for running sex racket in Silchar
Three persons, including two women, have been arrested for allegedly running a sex racket in Silchar, police said on Saturday.
The police made the arrests following an FIR which was lodged in Assam’s Cachar district.
Two women, who were also allegedly part of the racket, fled the house where they were confined to and filed the FIR against a woman who was running the racket and two others at the Rangirkhari police station on Thursday, Cachar Superintendent of Police Rakesh Roshan said.

The two women who had filed the FIR claimed before reporters that the sex racket was being run by four women, including the two arrested, and many prominent personalities, including three MLAs from both ruling and opposition parties, police officers, employees of the Cachar Deputy Commissioners office and a former Municipal Commissioner of Silchar were frequent visitors to the den.
The SP told PTI that the police was investigating the case on the basis of the FIR and appropriate action will be taken after investigations were over.
