The NDRF rescuers deployed at Patna's Collectorate Ghat averted a mishap from occuring as they showed their mental alertness in saving a boy from drowning in the Ganga.
At around 9:40 am on Saturday morning, a boy while taking bath on the occasion of Kartik Purnima, suddenly crossed the barricading at Collectorate Ghat, Patna and went into deep water (about 50 mtr ahead of the barricading) of the river Ganga. After few moments, he started drowning.
On noticing the incident, alert rescuers of 9 Battalion NDRF Constable Rakesh Gupta & Constable Md Salim promptly responded and successfully rescued him by employing excellent professional skill. Later on, the boy was identified as- Roshan Kumar (17 yrs), S/o Shri Surendra Kumar, R/o- Chiraiya Tand, Patna.
