Extending help to the victims of Cyclone Phailin in neighbouring Odisha, Chhattisgarh's Red Cross Society has sent two vans of foodgrains along with medicines and other relief material for those affected.
The state unit of the Indian Red Cross Society has extended help to cyclone-affected people in the coastal state with foodgrains, an official here said.
Governor Shekhar Dutt on Monday flagged off the two vans containing foodgrains at the state capital, the official said, adding that three volunteers of the humanitarian organisation were sent with the relief material.
Foodgrains sent include 30 quintal wheat and 10 quintal jaggery, he said.
The organisation has enough stock of medicines and other relief material which would be supplied according to demand, he said.
