Sanjay Kumar likely to be next HP police chief
Kumar, Currently Posted As Chief Commissioner, Railway Protection Force At Patna, Whose Central Deputation Would Be Over On July 21 Has Been Named Additional DGP (Law And Order) And Further Orders Would Be Issued After The Retirement Of Kamal Kumar, Official Sources Said.
Sanjay Kumar, a 1985 batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre is likely to be new Director General of Police on superannuation of DGP, B Kamal Kumar on July 31.
Kumar, currently posted as Chief Commissioner, Railway Protection Force at Patna, whose central deputation would be over on July 21 has been named Additional DGP (Law and Order) and further orders would be issued after the retirement of Kamal Kumar, official sources said.
After I D Bhandari, who was removed from the post of DGP in the wake of phone tapping controversy, Somesh Goel, a 1984 batch officer of Himachal cadre, is the senior most officer in the state and currently on deputation with Sashastra Seema Bal in Delhi.
S R Mardi, an officer of 1986 batch, currently posted as ADGP (CID) is another officer in line for top post.
