Randeep Hooda Opens Up About His Battle Of Saragarhi Getting Shelved For Kesari
Randeep Hooda Was Deeply Saddened When The Movie Project Did Not Take Off And In A Conversation With A Tabloid Has Revealed He Has Not Watched Akki's Kesari Till Date.
Randeep Hooda has been part of several spectacular, offbeat roles like Raja Ravi Varma, Sarabjit Singh or the ones in Imtiaz Ali movies but not many know he was also set to star in a film that dealt with the historical Battle Of Saragarhi and got shelved after Akshay Kumar's Kesari released and became a sleeper hit. The actor was deeply saddened when the movie project did not take off and in a conversation with a tabloid has revealed he has not watched Akki's Kesari till date.
Talking to Mumbai Mirror Hooda said that he was upset that the movie which according to him could have been a more authentic version of the historical battle between the Afghans and Indian soldiers of the British army with more emotions involved, did not see the light of the day. Talking about his experience working in the film, Hooda said, "Through the journey, I learnt the principles of Sikhism and I’m a better person now” Asked if he had watched Kesari, he replied, “Nope, it didn’t excite me much.”
Randeep was set to play the character of Havildar Ishar Singh, the same as Akshay Kumar's in Kesari. For the role, Randeep trained himself in several forms of martial arts. Randeep’s Battle of Saragarhi was helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi who has made movies like Khakee, Andaz Apna Apna.

Randeep Hooda was last seen in Love Aaj Kaal starring Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan. Recently he suffered an injury during the shoot of Salman Kahn's Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. Fans are also excited about his Hollywood venture with Netflix's Extraction.
