In An Embarrassing Goof-Up, USA Lists Black Panther’s Wakanda As One Of Its Free Trade Partners
The Fictional Country From Marvel, Wakanda Was Later Emoved Soon After US Media Queried It, Prompting Jokes That The Countries Had Started A Trade War.
Someone from the US Department of Agriculture (UDSA) apparently watched a little too much of Marvel that they listed the 'vibranium' -rich land Wakanda from Black Panther as an actual free-trade partner. The goof-up which is storming the internet was shared by one Twitter user @frynsys. Sarcastically asking if US really did list the fictional land as one of its free trade partners, the user captioned, ‘’Wakanda is listed as a US free trade partner on the USDA website??’’
Among the commodities listed under Wakanda were ‘live asses’, ‘mules and hinnies’, ‘live swine’, ‘live purebred houses’ among many others.
Trolling the blunder, one Twitter user said that it was Trump’s ‘GREATEST DEAL EVER’.
The fictional country was removed soon after US media queried it, prompting jokes that the countries had started a trade war.
USDA spokesman Mike Illenberg explaining on the blunder said,
‘’Over the past few weeks, the foreign agricultural service staff who maintain the tariff tracker have been using test files to ensure that the system is running properly. The Wakanda information should have been removed after testing and has now been taken down’’.
