Nagpur Police Shares Funny Post On New MV Act, Here’s How Netizens Reacted

The new Motor Vehicle Act got implemented from September 1 i.e. Sunday across the country which was passed Parliament in July and aims to infuse more discipline on roads by tightening rules and increasing penalties.

After the implementation of the new Act, the penalties have been significantly increased such as for not possessing Driving License (D/L), earlier there was a fine of Rs 1,000 which now has increased by 5 times and is Rs 5,000.

On Tuesday, Nagpur Police posted a funny meme on its Twitter handle which attracted several netizens to share their reactions on it and believe us they are quite hilarious.

The bill, which seeks to weed out corruption, improve road safety and usher in use of technology to regulate traffic was passed in Parliament in the month of July. 

It also brings a sea change in how Indian roads and vehicular transportation are governed. Stating that maximum road accidents in the world occur in India, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari noted that annually about five lakh road accidents take place in the country, in which there are 1.5 lakh deaths and 65 per cent of them are youth.
