In Pics: AAP Releases Manifesto Ahead Of Delhi Assembly Elections; Focus On Health, Education and Electricity
Four days ahead of the polling, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections. During the launch of the manifesto, Delhi Deputy CM and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said that the manifesto focuses on the issues that the Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi has been tackling in the last 5 years. The manifesto of AAP focuses on education, health, electricity and women’s safety, and empowerment.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that AAP's vision is to enable every common man to live with dignity and prosperity. He further added that the manifesto has a 'preamble' that captures the vision. Sisodia also stated that the party-led by Arvind Kejriwal guarantees quality education, health, clean water and 24-hour electricity to Delhiites if voted to power again.

AAP, which won 67 of the 70 seats in the 2015 polls, also promised doorstep delivery of ration and free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens. "AAP will continue effort for passage of Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill if it comes to power after February 8 polls," Sisodia added.

The deputy CM also said that the AAP, if re-elected, will run pilot project to allow markets to open 24 hours. He said that if a sanitation worker dies on duty, the party will pay a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased.

During the release of the poll manifesto, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal dared the BJP to declare its chief ministerial candidate for the February 8 elections. " I would like to tell BJP that people of Delhi want the BJP to declare a Chief Ministerial candidate and I am ready to debate with that person," said Kejriwal.

AAP is the last of the top three parties to release its election manifesto. It had earlier released a guarantee card with a list of promises the AAP intends to fulfill if Arvind Kejriwal is re-elected.
