5 upcoming Bollywood sequels that should be on every movie lover’s must-watch list
2018 wasn’t really a great year for Bollywood sequels. Even though Baaghi 2 did a great job at the box-office, there were quite a few disappointments. With films like Race 3, Namaste England, and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 tanking at the box-office due to poor storyline, expectations of the audience were not fulfilled. Now in 2019, we have a great deal of hope from all the sequels coming up. Let us see which film we are about to welcome and when.
Angrezi Medium: The much-awaited sequel to 2017 blockbuster film Hindi Medium, Angrezi Medium will star Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Radhika Madan in the lead roles. The shooting has begun in full swing and the film is expected to release in 2020. This is Irrfan Khan's first comeback film post defeating cancer.
Sadak 2: The Bhatt camp is back this year with a bang. One of the highest grossing films of 1991, Sadak starred Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in pivotal roles. Last year, Alia announced the sequel of Sadak that also marks Mahesh Bhatt’s comeback as a director. The film will star Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt.
Street Dancer 3D: Starring Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role, the third instalment of the film is set to release on November 8. The coming-of-age story inspired by the street dancer and is directed and produced by Remo D'souza and Bhushan Kumar, respectively.
Love Aaj Kal 2: Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Love Aaj Kal starred Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The hit rom-com of 2009 is all set to get a sequel featuring talented stars Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan. The upcoming film is referred to as Love Aaj Kal 2 as the makers are yet to come up with an official title.
Housefull 4: The fourth instalment of the comedy film series Housefull is all set to hit the screens soon. The film will see an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Kharbanda, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Rana Daggubati, Chunky Panday, Boman Irani, and Johnny Lever. The movie is expected to release on Diwali, this year.
