From Neerja to Saaho: 5 films that you won’t believe Alia Bhatt rejected
Alia Bhatt is one of the most promising actors that we have in Bollywood today. She has managed to captivate millions of hearts with her great acting chops and aesthetic fashion sense. With several blockbuster films to her credit, Alia is definitely on the top of her game. The gorgeous actress currently has a great line up of films such as Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh and Brahmastra which also stars boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in a prominent role. However, she has also rejected many blockbuster films in her career. Let’s take a look:
Neerja: Alia Bhatt was the first choice for the Neeraj Bhanot biopic. However, reportedly, producer Atul Kasbekar felt that she might not fill the bill due to her short height. Hence, the role was passed on to Sonam Kapoor, who later on won the National Award for her performance.
Golmaal Returns: Alia was offered this multi-starrer and she had also expressed her desire to work in this successful franchise. But the dates clashed and she had to turn down this project. The film went on to become the highest grosser and the biggest comedy blockbuster.
Raabta: Before Kriti Sanon, Alia Bhatt was approached for the film opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. However, she opted out of the project without giving any reasons.
Thugs of Hindostan: Alia Bhatt was approached for the film first, however, she felt that the role was not meaty enough. Later, Fatima Sana Shaikh was approached for the role.
Saaho: Before Shraddha Kapoor, Alia was approached for the film opposite Prabhas. She felt that the role was not important and was just a supporting character. Hence, she rejected the offer.
